The A5
The A5 is a multifunction sub-notebook/super-PDA computer which runs RISC OS Adjust. The A5 may be used as a traditional notebook within its carrier which houses a keyboard and touchpad. The head unit of the A5 may simply be undocked and used as a stand-alone pen-based computer. This small unit may be docked to a standard keyboard, mouse and monitor for "hot desking" applications, allowing an active personalised computing environment to be transported easily between sites. Options for mains or battery use are provided. The machine runs RISC OS under WindowsXP via the VirtualAcorn emulator, providing for speeds approximating that of our A75 series of machines. The 8.4" TFT screen may be used with a stylus when a keyboard is not present. Both RISC OS and WindowsXP may be run in either landscape or portrait mode, yielding resolutions of 800x600 and 600x800 respectively.
